Many eyes that have been watching the price of gold hitting a record mark of Rs 15, 700 this time around have missed their opportunity in silver. Though the yellow metal has recorded a return of about 17% in the year 2009, silver has overtook it. Actually silver had fallen by about 10% in the year 2008. After its fall, the metal has never looked back since then. Stats show that the yellow metal’s counterpart silver has outperformed gold by recording a return of about 28% in the year 2009. The case was different in the year 2008 when the yellow metal had a bull run and it recorded a return of about 20% while then silver had recorded only 10%. Now the scenario has changed and many are betting on silver.
