IS CREDIT CRUNCH FORCING TOYOTA?
Toyota has been getting ready for their new launch in the small cars segment for some time now. In addition to this plan, they are also having ideas of setting up a finance arm in the country. Though this plan is not yet confirmed, the emergence of this idea seems to be the result of the credit crunch which has been forcing the car manufacturers from last quarter of the year 2008. This finance arm would be set up in order to support the sales wing of the company. The sales of four wheelers in country’s domestic market was hit greatly by the economic slowdown which had slowed down the banks in retail financing at the same time increasing the interest rates too. Hope this step helps the car major!!
